Day 5.

After a short postponement waiting for the wind to fill in, the first race of the
final series got under way in an 8 to 10 knot wind.  The fleet split evenly up the
first beat. At the first mark the South African, Justin Onvlee came in from the
middle left to round ahead of Phillip White GBR.  White said "I was below the lay
line but god gave me a little lift so I could just squeeze round ahead of a group
of boats." Series leader, Onur Derebasi TUR, rounded in the top ten whilst the
remainder of his nearest rivals rounded ten or more places further back.  Onvlee
held his lead to the finish in spite of a strong challenge by White on the final
leg.  None of the chasing pack were able to significantly improve their positions.

15 year old White was charged up for the second race in a building breeze of 12 to
14 knots.  "I spotted a change in the wind phase and went right whilst most of the
other top guys went left" he said.  At the first mark he had a clear lead over the
Irish sailor, George Kingston.  White extended his lead on every leg of the course
to win by over a minute from Kingston.  Ates Cinar TUR and Derebasi, the two main
title contenders, were a lot more comfortable in the fresher wind and kept their
grip on the overall title with a third and fourth respectively.

Apart from White, Kingston and Luka Mratovic CRO all the other top ten sailors have
now used their one discard allowed in the final series.  White's impressive results
today could put pressure on the two leading Turkish sailors.  Any of the top three
can still take the overall title.
